Teysha's Ethical Fashion Guide: 5 Picks for Spring
Spring is blooming, temperatures are rising, and we can't wait to adventure outside!!
One of my absolute favorite things about working in the ethical fashion world is all of the fabulous and inspiring businesses we've become friends with over the years. I've also personally become such a different shopper/ consumer through this journey, going from a closet(s) overstuffed with too much random/ cheap stuff I rarely wore, to a very parsed down wardrobe, focusing on quality over quantity. It feels amazing to be able to support items that I know are made with care, made with respect for the makers, and help fellow badass females grow their businesses and impact.
Check out some of my favorite picks below, and definitely follow these wonderful companies as they're always sharing fun adventures and behind the scenes stories.
1) Stela 9 - @stela_9 - Sofia Apron Dress in Dusty Rose + Agave
Team Teysha is swooning over Stela 9's latest release of meticulously crafted, gorgeously hand-woven dresses made in Guatemala. The Sofia Apron dress would be perfect for farmer's market frolicks and pretty much everything! It's made from super light and breathable cotton. I love this color combination, and Jess also has some other absolutely gorgeous textile combos online.
2) Hiptipico - @hiptipico - Lexi Embossed Crossbody
The perfect little bag for music festivals and hands-free adventures -- I am in looove the gorgeous turquoise and hand embossed detailing!!!! This is a purse that will absolutely last you forever, and forever be in style.
3) Honest Cotton - @honestcotton - Layer Tank
I've been known to live in Honest Cotton clothes all summer long! Hand sewn by women in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and made of the most deliciously light and breathable cotton, Honest Cotton makes amazing staples for your closet. Super easy to care for and soft as can be! If it's cool enough for Texas, you know it's good for wherever you go.
4) Casa Flor Designs - @casaflordesigns - The Irma Skirt
I was so excited to see the launch of Casa Flor Designs, an amazing team out of Guatemala. Their first collection has some beautiful pieces that are polished but with a fun and funky twist. They're also happy to make any and all sizes. I love the Irma Skirt as it can be dressed up or down, and I super love the grey stripes that would also be great year round.
5) Noonday Collection - @noondaycollection - Antonia Scarf
A versatile and fun scarf is a must and can double up as a sun coverup, travel blanket, and a light evening cover. I love this one from Noonday for its funky tassels!
Bonus Pick - Teysha's new adventure sneakers -
Gotta pimp our brand, I know, but seriously I have been wearing my new adventure sneakers Every. Day. Soo comfy, fun, a little funky and edgy, and pretty much just the best! I have the Peachy Zunil pattern, but I have been falling in love with basically every pattern I see :)
There you have it, friends! I totally did not plan to have everything featured made in Guatemala + Mexico, but asi es -- you can tell where my heart is :)
