The Teysha Story
We are adventurers, designers, and activists who are passionate about creating opportunities for people and communities to flourish.
After graduating from college in 2012, we set off on a mission to build something in line with our values: diversity, cultural heritage, and innovation. Starting an international manufacturing and footwear brand at the age of 22? It wasn't exactly in the plan, but the idea of working with traditional artisan communities in a region we loved, in order to bring economic opportunity to these communities as well as delighting people worldwide with the most colorful, specially-crafted goods, made perfect sense.
Over the last five years, we have built our own workshop in Guatemala, employing over fifteen traditional shoe makers, we've designed rural supply chains enabling women and men weavers to work from home and care for their families, as well as pioneered the custom-designed footwear market enabling our customers to directly collaborate with artisans around the world. We are a nomadic team, based in Austin, Tx., New York City, and always in Guatemala. It's been a wild ride so far, and the adventure is just beginning.
